Title	:	BPPA continues e-GP training to strengthen public procurement capacity
Description	:	The Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) has continued its nationwide training programme on the electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of key public procurement stakeholders. Under a decentralized training strategy, the BPPA is organizing e-GP training courses at various venues in Dhaka and across the country, utilizing the training facilities and logistical support of different government agencies. The programmes are being financed from the BPPA's own funds to meet the growing demand for e-GP capacity building. A five-day e-GP training course that commenced on 15 July, 2026 at the laboratory of BKIICT at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in Agargaon, Dhaka, concluded on 21 July, 2026. A total of 31 officials from various government procuring entities participated in the training. On 15 July, 2026 the Chief Executive Officer (Secretary) of the BPPA Mr. S. M. Moin Uddin Ahmed attended the inaugural session as the chief guest, while Executive Director of the BCC Nahid Sultana Mallik presided over the programme. BPPA Director Mohammed Salah Uddin was also present at the opening ceremony. BPPA Directors Harun Or Rashid and Mohammad Ali Ahmed Khan were present as resource persons for the training. In his inaugural address, the BPPA Chief Executive Officer underscored the importance of enhancing stakeholders' capacity to ensure effective implementation of the e-GP system. "The use of e-GP is mandatory under the Public Procurement Act. Therefore, building the capacity of all stakeholders is essential. We have decentralized the training programme across different parts of the country to accommodate the growing number of e-GP users," he said. BCC Executive Director Nahid Sultana Mallik also highlighted the significance of e-GP training and reaffirmed the Council's commitment to supporting such initiatives. She noted that the BCC has well-equipped training laboratories to facilitate capacity-building programmes. The training sessions were conducted daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except on weekly holidays.
